(Free Album+) Sean Fournier Album to Drop Early 2010

I can't describe how much I love pop-folk artist Sean Fournier, and the more I learn the more I love. Shall I count the ways I love thee?

1.) He has truly awesome music sensibility. From his voice to his lyrics to the guitar and piano. Folksy yet fun, acoustic with the perfect amount of electronic manipulation, heartfelt, but never cheesy.

2.) His compilation project in which he encourages fans to cover his music to be featured in his compilation CD. Such an awesome idea.

3.) He's not only a musical artist, but an artist in all regards. Each of the covers for his four albums are original Sean Fournier pieces. And I have to say, they're way cool. He even drew the animations for one of his music videos!

4.) He's unsigned and already has a massive following. Take that Drake, Mr. Understand-Nothing-Was-Done-For-Me. :P

5.) HIS FREE EP. Both because it's free and because it's 6 fantastic songs. I strongly encourage you to spread the word here!

6.) And of course, according to a Creative Uncommons interview we should be keeping an eye out for a new SF Album in early 2010!

The only downside to this amazing artist is that he's taken :(.

New Single: 30 Seconds to Mars

Jared Leto's band has cut a new album. This is War has potential and will definitely satisfy previous 30STM fans. There's even a Kanye feature. Some of the songs are a little self-indulgent and ridiculously long, but most make up for it.

Case in Point:
"Kings & Queens" - 30 Seconds to Mars

Jay Sean vs. Jay Sean

On his album All or Nothing, which released earlier this week, Jay Sean includes two versions of "Down". We've all heard the original (or at least the radio edit of the original), but in the Candle Light Remix, the song is transformed into a ballad where Sean demonstrates his talent as a singer. Delightfully surprised.

Lady Gaga: French vs. Spanish

We're all familiar with "Bad Romance" by now, and besides the insanely awesome music video, we love the French.

Also on The Fame Monster is "Alejandro". With lyrics like "Hot Like Mexico" you know this one's gotta be good.

BONUS

"Again Again" - Lady Gaga From The Fame

New Single: Jason Derulo

The follow up single to "Whatcha Say" is out. I LOVE "Hide and Seek" and I can appreciate what Jason did with it, but there's something to be said about a song that's original, free of sampling. This one's definitely got more of a rock feel to it. I like.

Leona Lewis vs. Snow Patrol

Snow Patrol's heart wrenching writing met Leona Lewis' well-known singing passion for the first time in BBC's Live Lounge last October. I was feeling nostalgic. Enjoy.

New Stuff: Weezer

This is more of a follow up post to something I mentioned a while back about Weezer and Weezy teaming up for a song on Weezer's new album Raditude. The album is closer in style to The Red Album, the last one they released than any other albums of theirs.

Personally, I think the song that features Lil' Wayne stinks, but give it a listen:

"Can't Stop Partying" - Weezer ft. Lil' Wayne

Easily my favorite song on the album, is a cutesy-awkward-teen-moment-in-song. It's also the first single off Raditude. Am I the only one that weirds out when I realize Rivers Cuomo has a KID!?

"(If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To" - Weezer

Beyonce and Lady Gaga Team Up

In case you missed the buzz a couple of weeks ago, "Video Phone" from Beyonce's I Am...Sasha Fierce (yes, they're still pulling singles off the 2008 album) is being revamped to fit in none other than Lady Gaga. Be on the lookout for a "Video Phone" music video. I'm ready for the two of them to tear it up. I only have the original version of the song, but keep an eye out for the remix (in which Lady Gaga and Beyonce trade verses).

"Video Phone" - Beyonce

It personally comes as no surprise that Beyonce returned the favor with an appearance in Lady Gaga's new song "Telephone."

A Lucksmiths Tribute

The boys from Melbourne have decided to call it quits after 16 years of funny, cutesy, and sometimes heartfelt twee pop. If I go into how amazing these boys are, I won't be able to stop, and besides, why tell you what they sound like, when you can find out for yourself. :)

"Honey Honey Honey" - The Lucksmiths

"The Music Next Door" - The Lucksmiths

"Fridge Magnet Song" - The Lucksmiths

"What You'll Miss" - The Lucksmiths

"T-Shirt Weather" - The Lucksmiths

Sweet Sound: Deas Vail

Yes, it's a christian rock band whose name translates to "Humble Servant of God" (from Latin and Old French).

If you like Mae, or even Death Cab, you should give these guys a listen.
